    hey where u go i couldnt get ahold of use on messenger other day, I mighta played a bit. I got some days off coming, it all starts w messenger and if I can grab you. Racing does not have an E, and I am in a league now, its always challenges from other wall rammers (aka racers) like every hour or 2 tryin to knock me down the list. WOW is great for people that love to collect and pile crap up, I now have more than 700x the amount of gold allowed in the free version and over 2 million character health, and a bear companion with 1.5 million. We tag team and slash everyone to pieces. Beat a dragon with 32 million health yesterday, took like 3 hours, and took his shit. Some level 85 player got in a fight w my bear in a town, I turned around and smeared that guy into the sand in 5 sec flat.

    Yes Bob is a boon I saw him lose to a lvl 1 bird. He was even using cheats and still got Pwned. He had like 50 guns endless ammo, a health regen relic, and a whole team of bots too.

    Nice blog bob. Even though we probably disagree on some issues it’s good to read someone with opinion and intelligence.

      BTW , I fully understand why it is impractical to rename/edit 200+ files and repost duplicates to redirects to fix a crappy server host limitation and i agree with the fact that hof should seek a better redirect.

      That’s not the only thing im talking about , I have had people scream at me for renaming maps that they sent to me that i had to fix multiple times, like for instance boogy’s “(-_-).unr”. or the numerous times people post to buf etc that ‘how dare they rename my map/ file / package’ without my permission.

        I completely understand. There are really two points here and that distinction needs to be made. Whether a map needs fixed (omg most do too) is independent of whether the author has allowed for fixes to be made. The first does not preclude the latter, and that was my main issue with map fixes. If the original maker says “go for it” then fix to your heart’s content but if that allowance doesn’t come then one should pass on any sort of editing simply out of respect for the maker.

        I happen to be someone who always releases source and full rights for anything I do so we are in the same camp at the end. I think we just have different outlooks on it.

    Hi Bob,
    I had some free time this summer to build another coop map, this time inspired by Lord of the rings’s Weathertop.
    edited in 227 only standard unreal content and converted to 225 with winged unicorn’s tool. Seems to work. Your reviews very appreciated

      Awesome work as usual , Had a quick look and everything looks pretty good and initially runs fine, Unfortinitly I have not seen The Lotr series so i may not be the best judge about concepts drawn from it, But I will look more in depth when i have time( to play the whole map, it seems very large ), and of course write up a post for it here…Hopefully soon, few days mabye.been busy sort of..

    Huge thanks for hosting your page of downloads. Pretty quickly you find this to be one of ‘the’ definitive collections still existing. It’s much appreciated.

    Bob, how do you feel about your own code being used by others? I’d like permission to import a simplified version of sspawn2 into my mod. Do you mind if people use your stuff with credits?

      yeah the file section needs more love.
      im surprised anyone can even find the place let alone the file on the page.

      i stated work on a spawn3 specifically for jgrass about 2 years ago , i spend a few hours on it hit some stumbling blocks back then and gave up, why bother to reinvent the wheel ….

      the stuff that’s explicitly mine here , such as sspawn2 you can do what you want with it,
      newer versions have a header that shows my name and documentation and contact info.
      if your reuse is substantial (importing the entire mod ?) crediting my original idea , or work would be sufficient.

      if you do something fun and clever with it keep me in the loop.
      You know my email the 2 bobs are the same people ;/

      Then again if you take everything and dont mention me , i am not going to chase you down and sue you either.

    I was playing on another coop server learning how other people run theirs and I died at the hands of a behemoth. A really cool thing happened next and I respawned right where I died, saving me a long run back. Now *that* was both surprising and helpful and I dug into the cache to find out who made this wonderful thing. I should have known 😉

    I’m going to add the mod as-is to my server. I really like the idea and the execution of it and I would like to import some of the functionality to a coop exploration tool I’m working on at the moment. Ideally I want the client to be able to point at the ground and spawn an actor that will essentially be a save-spot for them if they die.

    I love your work Bob. Your stuff is a little quirky and offbeat and damned interesting. However I would never use anything without asking. That’s just not cool. In a day or two I’ll be far enough along to send you this tool I’m working on and you can see why I’m asking you about your code. OFC I’ll credit everything you do, I’m your biggest fan!

      Its essentaily a throw able dampener that when you die you spawn where you throw it.
      i know about this because casey told me he made it after seeing my mod lol
      also in that mod is a flyable paper airplane drone…

        Yep, that would be exactly it. I’ll ask him if he will let me use some of the code idea and I’ll add it to my coop scanner weapon/map controller I’m working on.

      Those weapons/ pawns werent intended to work in ut. Some of the packages have references to unreal 227 effects etc. If you supply a section of your ut log file including the errors it give i can tell you specificly why it dosnt work. I cant be bothered to look myself atm, Even tho i have ut installed.Those files are not exactly mine to alter. I know the guy who made them but he is absent from the unreal scene atm. I might be able to butcher them a bit to make them work in ut. But not sure how serious i am about it.

      havnt really looked at the maps again, i, Work has mostly taken over my life, other then a occasasain weekly adventure outside the home. would expect the same outcome tho with the maps since nothing has generally changed on the server or on the maps..its unfortanate tho becuase the terrain and area looked pretty big
